Annually we donated some of our profits to 1% For The Planet, as well as every time a Selkie Swag Bag is purchased we donated 10% of that profit to the Ocean Conservancy.

In addition to donating some of our profits to environmental non-profits, we are also use all recyclable bottles, packaging, and shipping materaials.

I've always been very proud of my family's heritage, the bulk of it is Croatian and Celtic. Both my Slav and Celtic families rely on water for food, and work. We are a water family.

And I've always loved the rich history of Celtic Fearie Tales, and among the many Fearie Tales are stories of Selkies from Scotland. A creature that is a human by land, and a seal by water. A creature that is known for only saving ship wrecked sailers, instead of drowning them.

So a strong connection to my watery heritage, the love of Celtic Faerie Tales, and the fact that I wanted to start a plant-powered aromatherapy business is how the name Selkie Botanicals was born!
